We don't always have time to call a friend, pick up a book, or sit with our thoughts. When you need help in the moment, reach for this tool.

Select the emotion that is presenting itself and work through a short set of questions to course-correct in real time. At the end of each day, log your mood. Used consistently, this tool will help you make clearer decisions, taking a moment to process and respond rather than react.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose."
— Viktor Frankl

Most conversations stay on the surface, and online we usually just see the good bits.

Shuffle through these questions with friends, family, on a date, or even by yourself. They are designed to spark more meaningful conversations.

Dear fellow human,

Most of us know what it feels like to react before we've thought, to be run by our emotions without stopping to process. This usually takes place after the fact, when it's too late. We say things we regret, spend money we didn't plan to, or stew in anxiety over something that probably won't happen.

Congratulations, you are a human being.

I built this app because I needed it. I was frustrated by a situation I could not change, becoming irate, eventually choosing to sit and process it through a series of questions before reacting and making a decision I knew (if I was honest with myself) might be rooted in emotion, overthinking, insecurity, or projection.

The idea for Human is simple: when something comes up, take a beat and open this app. Find what you're feeling and work through it in real-time. A few quick questions and some reflection can enable you to course-correct before you act. We don't always have time to dig through the ancient texts for pearls of wisdom in the moment.

At the end of each day, use the slider to log your mood, which you can chart over time. The idea is that by using this consistently, you'll become increasingly aware of your thoughts and feelings before they become reactions.

The breathing at the end of each session is 'box breathing' - four seconds in, four seconds out. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system and physically brings your heart rate down which will create space for clarity. Do it for as long as you need to.

It is my wish that this tool may be of use to you on a daily basis - with tangible and visible recorded mood shifts. It's helped me tremendously. There are no logins, no data saved - your mood logs are stored locally (so you must use the same browser), not on a server. I'm not collecting emails. I am not 'funnelling' you into anything, or using this tool to promote anything else. I won't even know if you're using the app. This app is free and will remain free forever. ✊🏽

Do get in touch directly with me to let me know how you're getting on with it, or if you have any cool ideas you'd like to see brought to life within the app.
